Day 1: UK - Riga.
Fly to Riga where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for a two-night stay.
Day 2: Riga. Included sightseeing.
The capital of Latvia is rightly considered one of the most beautiful towns in the Baltics. Enjoy a morning at leisure before joining the included sightseeing tour in the afternoon, where you will be briefed on some of the most eventful parts of the city's 800-year history. Founded in 1201 by Bishop Albert, head of the Order of Teutonic Knights, the Old Town is a mixture of narrow streets, parks, river banks and a canal flanked by old houses and lofty church spires. The main sights in the old town are Riga Castle and the Dome Cathedral.

Day 3: Riga - Siauliai - Kaunas (included sightseeing) - Vilnius.
This morning we travel south into Lithuania for a stop in Siauliai, one of the country's best-known pilgrimages, to see the Hill of Crosses, representing Christian devotion. Travel further south to Kaunas located at the confluence of the Rivers Nemunas and Neris. Its history goes back to the Hanseatic league and it has witnessed invasions by Russians and Swedes, and Napoleon on his way to Russia. It is now a bustling city full of activity and also an important university centre. The included sightseeing tour with a local guide includes the Old Town with the ruins of Kaunas Castle, the Cathedral and the Old Town Hall. A relatively short journey to the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius for a two-night stay.

Day 4: Vilnius. Included sightseeing.
Vilnius has been the capital of Lithuania since the 13th century and the old town reflects in its architecture the influence of the various people, who have at different times been the dominant force. Lithuanians, Russians, Jews, Muslims and Swedes have all contributed to the making of this city. After breakfast, join the included city sightseeing tour. The itinerary includes the Old Town with St. Stanislav's Cathedral, Gediminas Tower, Hill of Three Crosses, the Old University, the Gate of Dawn and Amber Gallery. In the afternoon enjoy some time at leisure or take the optional excursion to visit the famous Trakai Castle. This evening there's an optional folklore dinner.

Day 5: Vilnius - Pilsrundale - Sigulda.
An interesting journey today, as you travel across Lithuania into Latvia for a stop in Pilsrundale to visit the Baroque Palace of Rundale, the former summer residence of the Duke of Courland. The palace was built by the great architect Rastrelli, who also designed the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg. More lovely countryside before reaching Sigulda.

Day 6: Sigulda - Cesis (included sightseeing) - Tartu (included sightseeing) - Tallinn.
A day which offers a number of great highlights, starting with a stop in Cesis, Latvia's oldest city. It is located in the northern part of the Vidzeme upland and the River Gauja. Its most famous sight is the 13th century castle, which we will visit. En route to Tartu, drive through Gauja National Park, known as the "Livonian Switzerland" it is dotted with medieval castle ruins, picturesque countryside and a unique variety of fauna and flora. Continue your journey north crossing the border of Valka into Estonia for a stop in Tartu, the oldest town in the Baltics and also a visit to its cultural centre, made famous by its university. The town is situated between the country's two largest lakes the Peipsi and the Vortsjarv. Enjoy an interesting city sightseeing tour with a local guide. Journey through the heart of Estonia northwards to its capital, Tallinn for a two-night stay.

Day 7: Tallinn. Included sightseeing.
One of Europe's most intriguing cities dominated by walls and turrets, spires and winding cobbled streets. Start the day with an included sightseeing tour to appreciate Tallinn's unique history and beauty. The Old Town, now on the world heritage list, is certainly the most interesting part of the city. Whilst other main highlights include the Hanseatic Merchant Houses, the mile long town wall, the medieval town hall, the House of the Brotherhood of the Blackheads, Toompea Castle, Dome Cathedral and the Alexander Nevsky Church. In the afternoon join the optional excursion to visit the Kadriorg Park and Palace, built by Peter the Great in honour of his wife Catherine.

Day 8: Tallinn - Parnu - Riga.
This morning travel southwards from Tallinn for a stop in Parnu, Estonia's most fashionable seaside resort. In addition to it's beaches, the town boasts a number of museums, galleries and churches as well as restaurants and cafes, ensuring that there is something for every taste. Afterwards, continue to Riga for an overnight stay.

Transfer to Riga airport for your flight to the UK.
