Your itinerary
Day 1: UK - New York.
Fly to New York where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2: New York - Philadelphia.
This morning we'll drive to Philadelphia, an elegantly historic city, which cherishes its role as the birthplace of the US. On our included sightseeing tour, see where George Washington served most of his presidency and drive down Benjamin Franklin Parkway to the Museum of Art and Rocky Balboa statue. Take a walking tour to Elfreth's Alley, the US's oldest residential street with its pretty, flower-festooned houses, which date from 1700's. Visit Christ Church, a fine example of colonial architecture, founded in 1695. Revolutionary War leaders who attended Christ Church include George Washington, Robert Morris, Benjamin Franklin and Betsy Ross. Brass plaques mark the pews where these individuals once sat. Your next stop is the home of Betsy Ross, the seamstress who created the first American flag.
Day 3: Philadelphia.
A whole day to delve into the delights of this handsome city. Amble around its tree-lined cobbled alleyways and colourful neighbourhoods, visit Independence Hall, the Rodin Museum, browse bustling Reading Terminal Market, an authentic farmer's market in the city centre, or the Italian Market in South Philadelphia. In the evening why not visit the Avenue of Arts, which houses many restaurants and theatres.
Day 4: Philadelphia - New York.
Return to New York to enjoy the spectacular sights and electric atmosphere of the 'Big Apple'. One of the world's most exciting cities, the sights come thick and fast on our city tour. It encompasses all the major landmarks, including legendary Broadway, Greenwich Village, Chinatown, Wall Street, Trinity Church and more. Afterwards 'climb' the dazzling Empire State building for jaw-dropping views over the skyscraper-crowded skyline. This evening, choose from the many fine restaurants this city has to offer and enjoy one of the glittering Broadway shows.
Day 5: New York.
A whole day to discover why this incredible city is like nowhere else on earth. With something different at every turn, there's always another neighbourhood or amazing sight to discover. Board a ferry to see the Statue of Liberty close-up, shop on Fifth Avenue, visit buzzing Times Square, or browse the stunning Metropolitan Museum of Art. An oasis set amidst bustling Manhattan, Central Park is a must. Whatever you do, you'll never get enough of this exhilarating, up-tempo city.
