Tour Pace
A well paced tour. Even though
this is three weeks in duration, it
comprises
of three separate itineraries in Israel,
Egypt & Jordan. The flights
between
the countries are relatively short,
giving you ample time to settle into
your new
environment before the excitement of
sightseeing begins.
DAY 1 –
THU – ARRIVE TEL AVIV
Shalom! We are met at Ben Gurion
Airport and transferred to our hotel.
Hotel:
Hotel: Sheraton Tel-Aviv and
Towers.
DAY 2 – FRI –
JAFFA EXCURSION
We meet our Israeli Tour Director and
see the Habimah National Theatre,
Rabin Square and Carmel
market before continuing to the
artists
galleries in the ancient port of
Jaffa. A visit now
to Mini
Israel - a miniature park featuring 330
replica models. This evening
we enjoy a Shabbat dinner at our
hotel. (BB,HD)
DAY 3 – SAT – TEL
AVIV – GALILEE
We explore the Roman and
Crusader ruins at Caesarea. Then
on via
Haifa to Acre to see the
fortress, old harbour area and Crusader
crypt.
We continue to Nazareth
where we visit the Church of the
Annunciation.
Tonight we stay at a Kibbutz
guesthouse. Hotel: Nof
Ginosar.

DAY 4 – SUN –
GALILEE – DEAD SEA
We visit the 2000 year old
wooden boat before taking a boat ride on
the
Sea of Galilee. We visit
Capernaum where Jesus is
said to
have taught, and then to the Mount
of Beatitudes, setting for the
Sermon on the Mount. We follow the River
Jordan to the Dead Sea where
we enjoy a dip in the buoyant waters.

DAY 5 – MON –
DEAD SEA – JERUSALEM
We take a ride by cable-car up
to the fortress of Masada. Later
we pass the Qumran caves where the Dead
Sea Scrolls were found, on our way to view
Jerusalem from Mount
Scopus. Then we visit
King
David's Tomb on Mount Zion, the
Room of the Last Supper and
the Western Wall.

DAY 6 – TUE –
JERUSALEM SIGHTSEEING
Today we tour
Yad-Vashem, the moving museum of
the Holocaust. We
continue to the Shrine of the
Book, containing the Dead Sea
Scrolls.
Tonight we enjoy an oriental
dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 7 – WED –
JERUSALEM SIGHTSEEING
We visit the Garden of
Gethsemene then walk through the
Old City
to see the Temple Mount.
We continue along the Via
Dolorosa
to see the Stations of the
Cross. We also see the
Ecce Homo
Arch, Pool of
Bethesda and finish at the
Church of the
Holy Sepulchre. (BB)
DAY 8 – THU –
JERUSALEM – CAIRO
After breakfast we are transferred to
Ben Gurion Airport for our flight to Cairo.
We are met at the airport and
transferred to our hotel.

DAY 9 – FRI –
CAIRO SIGHTSEEING
We meet our Egyptian Tour Director
before visiting the Citadel
and Mohammed Ali's
Mosque. Now we continue to
Memphis
to see the statue of Rameses II
and alabaster sphinx. Nearby at
Sakkara
we view the Step Pyramid of Zoser
I. Now it's on to Giza for
a camel ride to the Great Pyramid of
Cheops and Sphinx. (BB)
DAY 10 – SAT –
CAIRO – LUXOR –
CRUISING
This morning we fly to
Luxor and board our cruise
boat in
time for lunch. Later we visit to
Luxor Temple and tour the
temple complex of Karnak.
We return this evening for a
fabulous Sound
and Light show. (BB,L,D)
DAY 11 – SUN –
CRUISING – EDFU
We cross to the west bank to see the
Colossi of Memnon. We
visit
the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut,
then continue to the Valley of the
Kings. Later, we cruise south to
Esna, (see Esna Lock closure pg 26) and

DAY 12 – MON –
CRUISING – KOM OMBO
This morning we enjoy a horse
drawn carriage ride to visit the well
preserved
Temple of Horus, (the Falcon
God). Then we continue to Kom
Ombo to visit
the Temple of Sobek the crocodile
god, conveniently situated on
the river
bank. Tonight we celebrate in true
Egyptian style at a Oriental Dinner and
Galabea Party. (BB,L,HD)
DAY 13 – TUE –
CRUISING – ASWAN
We cruise to Aswan
early morning. We take a motorboat to
the Temple of Isis on the Island
of Philae. Later, we return to Aswan where
we sail in a traditional Nile
felucca around Aswan's Botanical
Gardens.

DAY 14 – WED –
ASWAN
This morning perhaps join the
optional excursion to Abu Simbel?
(see page 26). Later, we
visit the
Aswan High
Dam and also the Granite
Quarries, where we see the unfinished
obelisk.
We disembark and check in to our Aswan
hotel. This evening, we are treated
to high tea on the terrace of our
hotel! Hotel: New
Cataract.

DAY 15 – THU –
ASWAN – CAIRO SIGHTSEEING
We transfer to the airport for our
return flight to Cairo where
we visit the famous Egyptian
Museum and see Tutankhamun's
treasures.

CAIRO – AMMAN
We transfer to the airport and fly to
Amman, where we meet our Jordanian Tour
Director. Hotel: Regency

DAY 17 – SAT –
AMMAN – PETRA
We drive to Jerash,
finest surviving example of a
Greco-Roman city.
We continue to Madaba
where we see the ancient mosaic
map
of the Holy Land. Later we visit
Mt Nebo, before arriving
in Petra.

PETRA SIGHTSEEING
A full day to explore the
Treasury,
Amphitheatre
and ancient tombs of the
'rose-red' city of

DAY 19 – MON –
PETRA – AMMAN
Today we drive along the King's
Highway to visit the Crusader
fortresses of
Kerak and
Shobak. We then head
back to Anman where we see the
Roman Amphitheatre and
Citadel
Hill. Hotel: Regency

DAY 20 – TUE –
DEPART AMMAN
Our tour ends with a transfer to the
airport. (BB)
