Day 1 – London –
Amsterdam
Meet your Tour Director at the
Holiday Inn Kings Cross/Bloomsbury before
heading to Europe. Cross the English
Channel and continue through Belgium’s
Flanders Fields, into Holland and on
to Amsterdam. See the Royal Palace and Dam
Square before enjoying a visit to a
diamond-polishing factory to see
the precious stones being cut and
polished. The evening is
spent in the Dutch countryside.

Day 2 – Amsterdam
– Rhineland
Travel to Germany to visit Cologne
and see its
Gothic Cathedral, before passing
through
Bonn and following the Rhine to join your
Highlight Cruise along the most romantic
stretch of the river. Here, castles stand
guard over vineyards and villages as
they have done since the days of
Charlemagne. Rejoin your coach and
pass the legendary Loreley Rock and
Pfalz Castle before arriving at your
hotel.

Day 3 – Rhineland
– Innsbruck
Stop in Heidelberg to view the
magnificent castle built out of red
sandstone and overlooking the Student
Prince’s town. Travel on to
Bavaria and its
capital, Munich, to see the
Hofbrauhaus, the
Marienplatz and the Olympic
complex. Head
into the Alps and over the
Austrian border to
Innsbruck, capital of the Tyrol.

Day 4 – Innsbruck
– Venice
Sightseeing here includes the Golden
Roof and the Imperial Palace in the old
town, built by the Hapsburg Empress
Maria Theresa. Visit the decorative Wilten
Basilica before crossing the Alps at
the spectacular Brenner Pass, which
takes you
into Italy’s Veneto region.

Day 5 – Venice
Sightseeing
Drive to the Venetian Lagoon where a
private launch takes you to St Mark’s
Square. See the ornate Basilica of St
Mark, Doges’ Palace and the Bridge
of Sighs.
Watch a demonstration of Venetian
glass-blowing before spending the rest
of the

Day 6 – Venice –
Engelberg
Stop in Verona to see see
Juliet’s balcony and the first
century Roman arena. Continue through
the Italian Lake District to the Swiss
Alps, complete with
snow-covered mountain peaks and flower-
covered chalets.

Day 7 – Lucerne
Sightseeing
See the covered Chapel Bridge and the
emotive Lion Monument before
relaxing, shopping or joining a cable-
car excursion to take in the mountain

Day 8 – Engelberg
– Paris
Leave the mountains and tranquil
lakes behind, cross the Rhine at Basel
and travel into France. Skirt the Jura
Mountains and drive past the vineyards
of Burgundy en route to the capital,
Paris.

Day 9 – Paris
Sightseeing
A local guide will show you the
Eiffel Tower, Arc
de Triomphe, Champs Elysees, Notre
Dame
Cathedral and the Place de la
Concorde. Spend an
afternoon at leisure to visit the Mona
Lisa in the Louvre or
to experience a Parisian cabaret. (B)
Day 10 – Paris –
London
Pass poignant reminders of World War
One as you cross the River
Somme en route to London, where your
tour ends after a return English Channel
