This holiday showcases 'traditional' Belgium and includes some
fabulous excursions. Your base is in or around the Ostend area, and
from here you will have the opportunity to joing our included
excursions to Gent, Brussels, Antwerp and Bruges. The quaint city
of Gent, known as the City of Flowers, has more listed buildings
than any other city in Belgium. You will have the full day to make
the most if its cobbled streets, canals, gabled houses, two castles
and five Abbeys! Start your included day excursion to Brussels at
the Grand Palace, one of the most historic and beautiful town
squares in Europe, then enjoy the day as you choose - shopping,
sightseeing and exploring. Antwerp is your third included visit,
famous for diamonds, fashion and shopping. Your final excursion in
to Bruges, famed for its meandering canals and beautiful
bridges.

Your itinerary

Monday
You will leave your chosen departure point early
Monday morning, and then take an afternoon channel crossing to
France. From there you will travel onwards to Belgium. You will
check into your hotel in Ostend during the early evening.
Tuesday - Gent
This morning you'll wake to an exciting day ahead of you with the
first of your included Belgian sightseeing excursions. Tuesday
morning is free for you to shop and explore the many wonderful
delights that Ostend has to offer, before visiting the quaint
Flemish City of Gent with its winding labyrinth of romantic canals
meandering inbetween its narrow cobbled streets and alley ways.
It's set to be an exciting and enchanting day.
Wednesday - Brussels
A day to shop and explore and in Belgium's stunning capital city of
Brussels. Sample the bright, lively and colourful surroundings in
your second included sightseeing excusion in Belgium. Here your
sightseeing tour will start by passing the grand Royal Palace,
Europe's Parliament building and then the botanical gardens, before
having free some time to enjoy the majestic splendour of its famous
'Grand Place', surrounded by colourful pavement cafes.

Thursday - Antwerp
Your third included sightseeing excursion will take you to the
beautiful city of Antwerp. Like it's diamonds, Antwerp sparkles
with an impressive range of architecture from medieval buildings to
the Art Nouveau styles. Try some of it's famous Bolleke beer or
sample some of the stunning art it has to offer. Antwerp is one of
Belgium's most important and popular harbour resorts. Today you
will have some free time available for personal sightseeing,
exploring and shopping in the old-town. After there will be an
included visit to an impressive diamond factory.
Friday - Bruges & Home
It's almost time for home. But before that you will spend the
morning in Bruges. This beautiful Flemish City has more miles of
canalways than Venice and is famous for its p r e s e r v e d
medieval buildings, fine traditional lace making and delicious
Belgian chocolates. With the city center closed off to cars, all
the stunning beauty and culture of this unforgettable city can be
easily explored on foot, by boat ride along quiet canals, or by
horse-drawn carriage among cobblestone streets.
Sadly it's time to leave Belgium. During the afternoon you'll leave
for your return channel crossing to England. You will arrive back
within your home area late evening or early the next morning with
fond memories of your time in Belgium. Situated between France and
Holland, Belgium encompasses all the best that Europe has to offer.
There's just something about Belgium, maybe it's stunning
architecture or perhaps it's the incredible cuisine.
