Holiday Accommodation -
You'll stay for four nights at the 4-star Ramada Hotel
Berlin-Mitte which is in the centre of Berlin and only a few
minutes' walk from the Brandenburg Gate.
There is an underground station approximately 100 metres from
the hotel which provides a convenient way to explore the city. The
hotel has a bar, restaurant and lift. All bedrooms have a T.V.,
telephone and hairdryer.
Ramada Berlin-Mitte
The Ramada Hotel Berlin-Mitte is the ideal starting point for
sightseeing; you will be only a few minutes walk away from the most
important sights like the Brandenburg Gate, the Minster of Berlin,
the Reichstag, and Museum Island. The direct subway connection
provides for your mobility so that you can even reach the periphery
and Potsdam without problems.
The appealing hotel restaurant, the bistro bar with a Berlin
flair, and the fitness area with sauna guarantee relaxing and
recreational hours.

Holiday Flights -
The flight times shown are for guidance only and may change. The
return time shown is arrival in the U.K. Exact flight times will be
sent to you and shown on your air ticket or on your final travel
documents. Some of our holidays feature flights with low-cost
airlines which are subject to availability and price. Therefore,
there may be an additional cost if the flight class we request is
unavailable. Under these circumstances we will offer you the
opportunity to book at a higher cost or to select an alternative
date. Please call our reservations staff for more information.
Precise flight numbers and times will be confirmed with your travel
documents. Please see clause 17 of our booking conditions. We
cannot confirm specific seats for you on an aircraft. We recommend
you check-in for your flight three hours before the scheduled time
for long haul flights and two and a half hours before the scheduled
time for any European holidays. The services of your Tour Manager,
driver or representative will be from arrival until departure at
the continental airport.

If you book ground arrangements with us and make your own
airline reservation, once we have accepted your booking, we
guarantee we will not cancel your holiday. All flight bookings will
be your own responsibility and are subject to the terms and
conditions of the airlines involved. In the unlikely event of your
flight being cancelled by the airline, no refunds will be given for
your holiday. If you book your own flights and wish to make use of
our included airport transfers we will be unable to provide
transfers in the event of your delayed arrival at the airport due
to flight delays, although we will endeavour to provide
assistance.
Airport Transfers -
For passengers travelling from London Stansted or Manchester by
Air Berlin to Berlin Tegel Airport, transfers are included to and
from the hotel in Berlin.
For passengers travelling to Berlin on other flights, transfers
are not included.. Local transport is available and easy to use by
bus or underground. The cost is approximately €2.50 per person
per journey. Alternatively a taxi from Tegel Airport costs
approximately €20 and from Schoenefeld approximately
€25.

Your itinerary
Berlin - The Cold War - 5-Day Break
- Day 1 - You fly
to Berlin for a four-night stay.
- Day 2 - Nazi Berlin
(included). We look at the story of Hitler's rise and
fall, visiting the Reichstag Building, the Olympic Stadium and Bell
Tower, Brandenburg Gate and the former Chancellery area, standing
above Hitler's bunker. We then discover the Topography of Terror
(notorious SS/Gestapo areas) and the Karshorst Museum - the former
Soviet HQ and location of theThird Reich surrender. B
- Day 3 - Soviet Assault
on Berlin (included). Starting from the Oder / Niesse
river lines, we follow the final Soviet attack on Berlin, which was
led by Zhukov. We will visit the Seelow Heights battlefield and
also the museum at Seelow. The Soviet advance is followed through
several interesting areas, including the area defended by the
British Free Corps (a unit consisting of British prisoners of war,
fighting with the SS). The day ends at the Soviet memorial in
Treptow Park, commemorating the 330,000 casualties in the Battle
for Berlin. B
- Day 4 - Cold War Berlin
(included). Discover the story of Berlin's Cold War
experience. We visit the Allied Museum, Check Point Charlie, the
remains of the Berlin Wall and Glienicke Bridge, upon which East
and West would swap spies. We also visit the infamous Potsdam
Conference Centre. B
- Day 5 -
Transfer to the airport and return flight home. B
