Your itinerary4 or 5-Day French Break
- Day
1 - We arrive in the Paris area and stay for four
nights.
- Day
2 - Paris (included). Romantic Paris is one of the
most beautiful cities of Europe - our guided sightseeing tour
(optional, included on Silver Service) is the best way to see all
the sights, such as, the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the
Champs Elysées, Place de la Concorde and the Cathedral of
Notre Dame. For a different view of the city, we recommend our
narrated Seine cruise (optional). In the evening our Paris by Night
tour (optional) begins with a visit to the Montparnasse Tower,
until recently the tallest skyscraper in Western Europe. In just 38
seconds, Europe's fastest elevator will take you to the 56th floor
and to a height of 196 meters (over 640 ft) where the most
beautiful view of Paris stretches out before us. Later, enjoy a
three-course meal in a typical restaurant before a tour of the
sights of the city. B
- Day
3 - Versailles and Monet's Garden (included). We
follow in the footsteps of the French kings at the impressive
Château and Gardens of Versailles (admission to château
is extra - approximately 8 Euros per person). Next, we visit
Giverny in Normandy and the home of Claude Monet - the artist lived
here from 1883 until his death in 1926. The house and gardens, made
famous by his 'waterlillies' paintings, have been restored to
Monet's original designs - the gardens being considered by many as
his greatest work. Planned out meticulously so that every month a
different colour would dominate, the beautiful shades and shapes
ensure they are a delight at any time of the year.B
- Day
4 - (4-day break only) We journey to Calais, then
return home. B
- Day
4 - (5-day break only) Fontainebleu and Vaux le
Vicomte (included). Delightfully situated in the heart of
a beautiful forest and surrounded by an impressive garden, the
Château de Fontainebleau was a hunting residence of the
former French monarchy. The gardens contain many different styles
and have been influenced by many people. The vast area to the south
of the château, designed by Andre Le Nôtre, is a
Frenchstyle garden with two perspectives. We also visit the
Château de Vaux-Le-Vicomte, created by French masters,
including architect and landscape gardener André Le
Nôtre. B
- Day
5 - (5-day break only)- We journey to Calais, then
return home. B
