Your itinerary7-Day French Cruising Break
- Day
1 - We break up our journey with an overnight stay
in northern France.
- Day
2 - We travel to Lyon where we join our cruise ship
this afternoon. We cruise south, passing the towns of Vienne,
Condrieu, and St Vallier, with Diane de Poitiers' castle. We then
pass by the famous Hermitage vineyards, where you will see famous
names written on the hillside of Jaboulet. We pass Crozès
l'Hermitage, and arrive in Tain l'Hermitage, where dinner will be
served on board. We will moor overnight at Tain l'Hermitage.

- Day 3 -
Avignon (included) This morning, we sail early, passing
Valence, Montélimar and Viviers before arriving this
afternoon in the historic city of Avignon. Here you can discover
the delights of this magnificent walled city, or take part in our
optional visit to the Pope's Palace. B,L,D
- Day 4 -The
Camargue and Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer (included) This
morning, we depart early for our excursion by coach to the
Camargue. You will have some free time in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer
before we return to Port-Saint Louis, where the ship is berthed,
for lunch. We then cruise towards Martigues, where we disembark
later this afternoon and continue by coach to Orange, in Provence,
where we stay for two nights. B,L,D
- Day 5 -
Aix-en-Provence (included) We visit Aix-en-Provence where
you will have time at leisure. Built on the site of thermal
springs. Aix is well known for its fountains, and the 'Fontaine de
la Rotonde' on Cours Mirabeau dates from the 17th century.
Restaurants and cafés abound around the leafy Cours
Mirabeau. Aix's most famous son was the painter Paul
Cézanne, and it is possible to follow the town's 'Circuit de
Cézanne', which is indicated by round bronze discs embedded
in the paving. Alternatively, you may wish to join our optional
sightseeing tour, which will reveal some of the town's history, and
details about the different sectors. B,D
- Day
6 - We travel to the Paris area for an overnight
stay. B
- Day
7 - Journey to Calais then return home.
