- Day 1 - You fly to Venice, where we will meet you and transfer you to our hotel in Mestre for a three-night stay.
- Day 2 - Venice
(included). We travel by coach from our hotel to Venice. Although
born in the 13th century, the carnival revives the traditional
masked balls of the 18th century, when revellers from all social
classes would don elaborate costumes and masks, and come together
to enjoy the wild celebrations. The carnival today features a
mixture of modern and traditional themes, including colourful
parades, illuminated exhibitions and masked concerts, over a
two-week period. St. Mark's Square, the theatres and the famous
Campi, come alive with mesmerising musical, theatrical, acrobatic
and dancing acts, while all across the city, artists and street
entertainers vie for attention with spectacular sideshows. So, it's
time to don our masks and let go of our inhibitions, while we party
with the locals, immersed in a very vibrant tradition!
Venice Lagoon Cruise (optional). Our panoramic cruise around the Venetian lagoon goes past Murano, the centre of the glass-making industry since 1291, and Burano, renowned for its brightly-painted houses and lace products since circa 15th century. B - Day 3 - A free day to enjoy more festivities in Venice or explore more of the marvellous sights.
