Your itinerary14-Day Italian Break
- Day
1 - Door-to-door departure and then we travel to
northern France for an overnight stay.
- Day
2 - We travel to Lake Como area for an overnight
stay. B
- Day 3 - To
Pisa (included) and then Montecatini for an overnight
stay. See the famous leaning tower of Pisa, the cathedral's bell
tower and a unique building of great historical value. Join an
optional sightseeing tour and explore the tower's immediate
location, Piazza dei Miracoli. B,D
- Day
4 - We arrive on the Sorrento Peninsula for a
seven-night stay. B,D
- Day 5 -
Sorrento and Coastal Villages (included). Escorted by a
local guide, we drive through hills, valleys, mountains and
terraces lined with citrus trees, olive groves and vineyards, all
descending towards the sea. B,D
- Day 6 -
Sorrento (included). Wander the narrow streets and harbour
area, browse the shops for souvenirs or sit back and relax with a
traditional Italian pastry and cappucino. B,D
- Day 7 -
Pompeii (optional). Destroyed by the erupting Vesuvius in
79AD, we learn about the last days of this ancient Roman town and
its people. B
- Day 8 - Isle
of Capri (optional). We see the most fabulous
Mediterranean scenery along what is home to many of the rich and
famous. We sail across the Bay of Naples, enjoying clifftop views,
with Mount Vesuvius in the distance. B,D
- Day 9 -
Amalfi Drive (included). 'The most spectacular road in
Europe'! We visit the lovely cathedral and the hillside town of
Ravello - 350 metres above sea level. B,D
- Day 10 -
Vesuvius (optional). Our half-day tour takes us to Mount
Vesuvius, most famous for its eruption of 79AD which buried the
towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Our tour takes us to 3,000 feet,
where we have the option to continue on foot to the crater (please
note that there's a local charge of approximately 6.50 Euros to
visit the crater). B,D
- Day 11 - To
Rome (included), then Chianciano Terme for an overnight
stay. We explore palaces and piazzas of the Roman Empire's former
capital, including the Vatican, St. Peter's Cathedral, the Sistine
Chapel and the Piazza Venezia. There's a guided sightseeing tour
(optional) that also covers the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain
and Rome's greatest amphitheatre - the Colosseum. B,D
- Day 12 - To
Vipiteno (included) and then Austria for an overnight
stay. Vipiteno, a modern shopping haven is rich in tradition and
natural beauty, and showcases a host of historical monuments and
cultural delights. B,D
- Day
13 - During our journey home, we spend a night in
Belgium. B
- Day
14 - Journey to Calais then return home via our
door-to-door service. B
