9-Day Italian Break
- Day
1 - We break up our journey with an overnight stay
in northern France.
- Day
2 - We continue our journey to northern Italy for
an overnight stay.B,D
- Day
3 - San Marino (included). We stop en route at the
tiny Republic of San Marino which claims to be the oldest republic
in the world, with a history of independence dating back to 301
A.D. It's certainly the smallest country you're likely to visit;
the total area is just 24 square miles. We later arrive in
Grottammare where we stay for four nights.B,D
- Day
4 - Pesaro & Urbino (optional). We start the
day with a visit to Pesaro, an appealing town that is both an
attractive seaside resort and thriving fishing port. Whilst you are
busy sightseeing, don't forget to pay a visit to the modest house
where Italy's great opera composer Gioachino Rossini was born in
1792. We then make our way through to the fascinating city of
Urbino, which is famous for its historical, artistic and cultural
importance, and is now included in the UNESCO list of World
Heritage Sites. B,D

5 - Frasassi Caves (optional). Today we take a
'journey to the centre of the Earth' in the Frasassi Caves, one of
Italy's largest and most famous complex of caves. B,D
- Day
6 - Ascoli Piceno (included). The beguiling town of
Ascoli Piceno is a place that you can see in a day yet never
forget. Along with its breathtaking main square, it has other
outstanding sights that manage to leave their mark on even the most
experienced traveller. Ascoli Piceno Sightseeing (optional,
included on Silver Service). Our local guide will show you around
this magnificent town, sharing the stories and history of its
well-preserved towers, squares and monuments. The Piazza del
Popolo, Sant'Emidio Church and Palazzo dei Capitani are just some
of the places you will experience. B,D

7 - We leave Italy and head to the Austrian Tirol
for an overnight stay. B,D

8 - We continue to Belgium for an overnight stay.
