Your itinerary
7-Day Roman & Sorrentine Break
- Day
1 - Express overnight journey to Italy.
- Day
2 - We arrive in Fiuggi in the afternoon for a
four-night stay.
- Day 3 -
Pompeii and Montecassino (optional, included on Silver
Service). Join us as we visit the monastery of Montecassino. It was
destroyed during WW2 then rebuilt. We then continue to Pompeii; in
79AD the eruption of Mount Vesuvius buried the town in a
suffocating layer of stones and ash (entrance to the ruins is
extra). Join our Pompeii guided Sightseeing tour (optional), with
expert guide for a fascinating tour of the ruins. B
- Day 4 -
Rome (included). Today we discover the 'eternal city' with
some time at leisure. A lovely place to explore on foot, our guided
walking tour (optional) is a fantastic way to introduce the city's
spectacular sites, including the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain,
the Piazza Venezia and the grand Colosseum. B
- Day 5 -
Sorrento (optional) or Capri (optional).
Upon arrival in Sorrento take the hydrofoil to Capri and have free
time to explore. Visit the town, with its main square 'Piazza
Umberto', or the gardens of Augustus, which overlook the Faraglioni
Rocks. Enjoy the views across the Marina Piccola. A guided tour
(optional) of the island is also available. For those who perfer
you can spend the day in Sorrento, one of the most popular resorts
on the Neapolitan Riviera. Pick up some souvenirs from shops and
stalls or enjoy some wonderful Italian cuisine in one of the many
trattoria. B

6 - Today we enjoy some free time in Fiuggi to
relax and enjoy the surroundings, before leaving for our express
overnight journey home. B

7 - We travel to Calais and onward home.
9-Day Roman & Sorrentine
Break
- Days
1-5 - As seven-day tour.
- Day 6 -
Rome (included). Another visit to Rome giving you the
chance to join our Vatican and the Sistine Chapel tour (optional).
Escorted by a local guide you will be guided through the
awe-inspiring frecoes in the Sistine Chapel. Including
Michelangelo's famous painted chapel ceiling. We will also visit St
Peter's Square and where some of the most important papal
ceremonies take place. B
- Day 7 -
Ostia Antica (optional). The fall of Rome and spread of
malaria resulted in the abandonment of the working port city of
Ostia which was eventually buried but preserved beneath mud and
sand. It is now regarded by many as superior to Pompeii in its
archaeological Roman remains. The sites include original mosaic
floors, the ancient theatre, and the public latrine, complete with
revolving door, running water and seating for twenty! B

8-9 - As per day 6-7 on seven-day tour.
