Your itinerary
7-Day Swiss Break
- Day
1 - We break up our journey with an overnight stay
in northern France.
- Day
2 - We arrive in Col des Mosses, Switzerland and
stay for four nights. B,D
- Day 3 -
Chamonix (optional, included on Silver Service). Our
alpine adventure begins with a leisurely visit to charming Chamonix
in France, quietly nestled at the foot of Mont Blanc. B,D
- Day 4 -
Zermatt (included) and The Gornergrat Railway (optional).
Travelling by coach to the town of Täsch, we then journey by
train to the internationally renowned mountain village of Zermatt
(below the Matterhorn) where you can enjoy time at leisure. Join
our optional rail ride on the Gornergrat Railway - Switzerland's
highest operating railway station, running trains since 1898.
Gently climbing through a natural paradise, the Gornergrat Bahn
takes us from Zermatt up the 3089m high peak. We cross pine and
larch forests and alpine meadows full of flowers, arriving in the
midst of snow and ice-covered mountain peaks, including the great
Matterhorn, Liskamm and Dufour-Spitze. B,D
- Day 5 - The
Golden Pass Railway and Geneva (included). We enjoy
panoramic views of the Swiss Alps on the magnificent Golden Pass
Railway. We begin our journey in Zweisimmen and pass through the
world-famous resorts, Gstaad and Châteaux d'Oex. As we near
Montreux, the Lake Region begins to unfold below us, revealing
lovely views of the popular 'Swiss Riviera'. We spend the rest of
the day in lakeside Geneva. Our sightseeing tour (optional) visits
the Jet d'Eau and the Reformation Monument. Then there's free time
to wander around this cosmopolitan city, with its smart shops
(Geneva is the 'home' of the Swiss watch-making industry). The day
ends with a chance to see the city from the water, on an optional
lake cruise. B,D

6 - We travel to our hotel in northern France for
an overnight stay. B

- We journey to Calais then return home. B
