Your itinerary14-Day Alpine Break
- Day
1 - We travel to Belgium for an overnight
stay.
- Day
2 - Rhine and Moselle Valleys
(included). To the Rhine Valley and the riverside town of Boppard
where you can join an optional cruise on the Rhine. View the
Loreley Rock and the castles perched high in the vineyards, before
travelling to the gentler Moselle Valley, where you can sample the
wines at the House of Anton Hammes. Overnight in the Rhine/Moselle
Valley area. B,D

3 - On through Germany, calling at Rothenburg Ob
Der Tauber on the aptly named Romantic Road, before crossing to
Austria and St. Johann in Pongau in the Salzburgerland area, our
centre for three nights. B,D

4 - Salzburg and the Austrian
Lakes (included) with sightseeing tour in Salzburg
(optional, included on Silver Service). To Salzburg, Mozart's town.
In the afternoon, we head through contrasting lake and mountain
scenery to the Wolfgangsee, then to Hallstatt and Obertraun.

5 - Grossglockner Glacier
(included). Our excursion takes us along one of the most
spectacular roads in Austria as we ascend the country's highest
mountain along the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse. Have a camera at
the ready to capture this impressive icy world from the
Franz-Josefs-Heights viewing platform. Continue to the charming
village of Heiligenblut before returning through the Tauerntunnel.

6 - Kranjska Gora (included)
Julian Alps (optional). Head south through the mountains to cross
into Slovenia and the resort of Kranjska Gora for two nights,
arriving early afternoon. Join an excursion to the Julian Alps, as
we drive to the Vrsic Pass and past Lake Jasna. B,D
- Day 7 - Lake
Bled (included) and Sightseeing Tour (optional) We visit
the "jewel" of Lake Bled. Join our optional sightseeing tour seeing
the cliff-top Castle of Bled and continue by gondola-style boat to
the tiny island. B,D
- Day 8 -
Cortina D'Ampezzo and The Dolomites (included). We call at
the resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo and journey (weather permitting)
through the lofty peaks of the Dolomite mountains. We stay in the
Süd Tirol overnight. B,D
- Day 9 -
Innsbruck (included). We call at Innsbruck, then into
Switzerland, following the Engadin Valley, of glacier fame, to St
Moritz for time at leisure before continuing to our hotel for an
overnight stay. B,D
- Day 10 - The
Mountain Pass Tour (included). Our route to Sierre for a
two-night stay, takes in some of Europe's grandest passes. We
negotiate the heights of the Julierpass and the Paseo del San
Bernadino. Following the shores of Lake Maggiore, we then climb the
Simplon Pass, and enjoy dramatic views and spectacular sights.

- Day 11 -
Zermatt (included) with Gornergrat Railway (optional).
Travelling by coach to the town of Täsch, we then take the
train to Zermatt. Join the optional train ride on the Gornergrat
Mountain Railway through alpine meadows for the best views of the
Matterhorn. B,D
- Day 12 -
Lake Geneva and Geneva (included). We descend to the
shores of Lake Geneva and visit Evian and Geneva itself. Admire the
sights, including the Jet d'Eau Fountain and the Reformation
Monument before arriving at our hotel in the Lausanne area.

13 - To northern France for an overnight stay.
