Your itinerary9-Day Break
- Day 1
- We travel to Belgium for an overnight stay.
- Day 2
- Head through Germany and into Austria to reach St. Anton
for three nights. B,D
- Day 3
- Samnaun (included). A pleasant half-day visit to this
pretty Swiss village perched high in the Alps. It's also a chance
to shop at the only duty-free oasis in Switzerland. B,D
- Day 4
- Seefeld, Garmisch-Partenkirchen & Oberammergau
(optional). After visiting the pretty Alpine village of Seefeld, we
cross the border to the famous ski resort of
Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Then it's onto the village of Oberammergau,
famed for its Passion Play, which has taken place every ten years
since 1633. B,D
- Day 5
- Innsbruck & Vipento (included). Leaving St. Anton,
we head to Innsbruck, the only major city in the European Alps. The
many fine buildings are a testament to the city's regal past,
including the famous Golden Roof and the Hofburg Palace, whilst
Maria Theresien Street is also a must. We also see the Berg Isel
ski jump, a reminder that Innsbruck has twice staged the Olympic
Winter games, and from where there is a wonderful panorama
overlooking the city and the Karwendel mountains. Later, we travel
over the Brenner Pass, scenically one of the most beautiful routes
in Europe, to the medieval village of Vipiteno in the Italian
Süd Tirol. Enjoy time at leisure to explore the town and shop
for bargains, including wine and leather goods. We continue to our
hotel in Lake Garda for three nights. B,D
- Day
6 - Lake Garda Including Boat Trip (optional,
included on Silver Service). We will stop at some of the most
picturesque villages on Lake Garda, including the gem of the
peninsula, Sirmione, from where we take a private boat to Gardone,
on the way passing the private island of Garda, with its Venetian
Villa, inhabited by the Countess Borghese and her five bachelor
sons. B,D
- Day 7
- Venice (optional). This unique city mixes Byzantine and
Renaissance architecture throughout the 118 islands, and the
magnificent buildings, surrounded by bridges and canals, are a sign
of the city's former wealth. Venice is famous for its many
spectacular sights, including the Bridge of Sighs, St. Mark's
Square and the Doges' Palace. A ride on a gondola, with your expert
gondolier steering you through the busy waterways of Venice, is a
unique and exciting way to explore the city, or you may decide just
to sit back and relax at Harry's Bar with one of their famous
Bellini cocktails. B,D
- Day
8 - We travel to our hotel in Belgium for an
overnight stay. B
- Day 9
- We arrive in Calais for our return journey home.
