Fly to Rome from your choice of UK airport and settle in for one

2. Rome to Montecatini Terme
Take in famous highlights such as the Piazza Navona, Capitol
Square, St Peter's Basilica, the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon on
a sightseeing tour of Italy's capital this morning. This afternoon,
journey to the beautiful region of Tuscany. Reaching the town of
Montecatini Terme, set in a valley of olive groves and renowned for
its spas, springs and thermal baths, make yourself at home at the
central 4 diamond Hotel Tamerici e Principe, which welcomes you for
the first of five nights. B
3. Montecatini Terme, Montecatini Alto and
Lucca
Absorb the elegance and sophistication of Montecatini Terme on
this morning's orientation tour before heading up to the charming
old town of Montecatini Alto, set a few hundred metres above the
spa town. Explore the nearby medieval town of Lucca, birthplace of
the composer Puccini, on an optional tour in the afternoon or do as
you please in Montecatini Terme. B
4. Chianti Country and San Gimignano
Spend a full day exploring the romantic Tuscan countryside of
rolling hills and valleys, olive groves and vineyards, castles and
Romanesque churches. Sample some of the region's wine and savour a
Tuscan lunch before paying a visit to the medieval hilltop city of

5. Siena and Monteriggioni or
Montecatini
Visit Siena, 'the jewel of Tuscany', for a walking tour of one
of Italy's most enchanting cities before exploring the hilltop
medieval walled town of Monteriggioni on today's optional trip.
Alternatively, your day is at leisure in Montecatini. B
6. Florence
Take the train to the magnificent city of Florence, a place of
overwhelming historical and cultural significance. Retaining many
of its medieval roots, the city is one of Europe's most enticing
with a pleasant, peaceful atmosphere and a wealth of Renaissance
imagery, icons, sculpture and architecture. Touring on foot, take
in sights such as the cathedral and marble-encrusted baptistery,
the Piazza della Signorina and the medieval bridge of Ponte
Vecchio. You've time to explore at your leisure this afternoon
before returning to Montecatini by train. B
7. Montecatini to Pisa and
Rome
See one of Italy's most famous landmarks in the city of Pisa,
the leaning tower, on the way back to Rome today. This afternoon,
settle in at the 4 diamond Palatino Hotel before seeing the city's
monuments by night on an optional tour. B

Return to the UK from Rome airport. B
